My Right Life was founded on a simple premise: Canadian business owners are sitting on retained earnings, cash flow, and personal savings that are being eroded by taxes and inflation, and there's a better way to deploy that capital.
Most Canadian business owners are excellent at building their business. But when it comes to deploying the wealth that business generates, retained earnings sitting in a holding company, cash flow that's being taxed at the corporate rate, personal savings earning 2% in a GIC, the options feel limited.
Real estate in Canada is expensive, over-leveraged, and increasingly regulated. The stock market feels volatile and impersonal. And most "investment opportunities" are either too complex, too illiquid, or too dependent on a single market.
We built My Right Life to offer a third path: internationally diversified vacation rental properties in markets with strong fundamentals, low or zero tax, USD pricing, and professional management, so you can invest and get on with running your business.
To help Canadian business owners build lasting, internationally diversified wealth through curated vacation rental properties, with full transparency, turnkey management, and genuine alignment of interests.
A world where every business owner has the option to deploy their retained earnings into real, income-producing assets that work for them, regardless of where those assets are located.
We only present opportunities we would invest in ourselves. Every property is vetted for yield, legal clarity, foreign ownership rights, and the quality of on-the-ground management before it reaches you.
Three Canadian entrepreneurs who built businesses, invested internationally, and decided to make that path accessible to others.
My Right Life was founded by a Canadian entrepreneur who spent years building a successful business, and then spent years figuring out what to do with the wealth that business generated.
The answer wasn't more Canadian real estate. It wasn't the stock market. It was internationally diversified vacation rental properties in markets with genuine structural advantages.
Every property on this platform has been evaluated through the lens of a business owner deploying retained earnings: What's the after-tax yield? What's the legal structure? Who manages it when I'm not there? What's the exit strategy?

His ability to simplify complex concepts into practical, easy to understand strategies has helped thousands of investors gain confidence and make better decisions.
After personally investing in Belize and navigating the legal, tax, and management complexities firsthand, the decision was made to build a platform that makes this accessible to other Canadian business owners.
"We built this because we wished it existed when we were starting out. A trusted source of curated international investment properties, with no fluff, no timeshares, and no hidden agendas."

Paul D'Abruzzo is a real estate investor, developer, coach, investor-focused realtor, and family man with extensive experience in both Canadian and international real estate markets. Over the years, Paul has spent significant time studying and investing in lifestyle and vacation-driven markets including Turks and Caicos and Costa Rica, gaining firsthand insight into resort properties, short-term rentals, land development opportunities, tourism-driven economies, and the unique advantages and risks associated with Caribbean and Central American real estate investing.
Before entering real estate full-time, Paul proudly served as a Toronto firefighter for over a decade. Firefighting provided stability, strong income, and a respected career, but Paul and his wife Laura envisioned something greater , financial freedom, control over their time, and the ability to create a long-term legacy for their family.
Paul began investing in real estate during the financial crisis of 2009 while still working full-time as a firefighter. Determined to build a different future, he hired mentors, studied business and asset management, and gradually built a growing portfolio. However, balancing firefighting, family life, and investing eventually became overwhelming. The emotional and physical toll of firefighting, combined with the desire for more freedom, led Paul and Laura to make a life-changing decision.
In 2020, Paul left firefighting to focus entirely on real estate. Despite entering full-time investing during one of the most uncertain periods in recent history, he rapidly expanded his business and portfolio. In a short period of time, Paul more than doubled his operations and built a strong team around him, earning a reputation for integrity, strategic asset management, and practical investor guidance.
Today, Paul and his team manage approximately $45 million in assets across multi-family properties, student rentals, short-term rentals, and land development projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario's Golden Horseshoe.
When market conditions shifted dramatically in 2022 and 2023 with rising interest rates and increasing financing pressures, Paul adapted quickly. Rather than relying on outdated investment assumptions, he focused heavily on asset management, operational efficiency, strategic repositioning, and long-term sustainability. This period refined his approach and deepened his understanding that modern real estate investing requires discipline, adaptability, and strategic planning.
Paul and Laura have intentionally structured their business to operate remotely, allowing them to travel extensively while maintaining active oversight of their investments and projects. Together with their three daughters, they continue building a lifestyle centered around freedom, family, and long-term wealth creation through real estate.
"Modern real estate investing requires discipline, adaptability, and strategic planning , not just optimism about the upside."
